For almost an entire year, the redistricting commission dedicated their time to developing new map proposals for the city of Los Angeles. But after all their hard work, the final map was significantly changed by the city council at the last minute. This created a lot of controversy.

My guest is David Burke, president and founder of Citizens Take Action. He explains what redistricting means for Los Angeles and how the process could become more transparent.

Greetings fellow Constitutionalists!  My name is Derek Langseth.  I am the Los Angeles Area coordinator for the Constitution Party of California. We are now forming the Party in Southern California.  This an exciting and crucial time for political action in our state and country! The Constitution Party is needed now more than ever to rescue our state from the socialist juggernaut and return us to constitutional government.  Our strategy for the upcoming year is to do the following:

• Get involved in city and county government. Attend the city council and county board meetings.  Get their agendas and campaign against wasteful spending and for responsible constitutional government.
• Attend School Board meetings and oppose the socialization of the curriculum.  Find good books on government and the history of America and campaign to get them into the school library.
• Form a College Constitutionalist Group at local colleges and universities. Use videos, books, and literature to educate the students in liberty. Encourage them to go into business, etc. so they can be business owners and good Constitution Party activists in the community. 
• Run candidates to WIN local offices so we can achieve our goal of returning the government to constitutional principles and oppose state and federal tyranny. 

To start it all off we will start having monthly meetings here in the Long Beach area in January to educate ourselves.  I am accumulating some educational videos.  I also am making a recommended reading list.  If you can help with the reading list by recommending some books that would be great.  Feel free to respond to this posting below, as a comment, send an email, or call/text me at 562-338-8358. Remember, task ahead is difficult, but we can accomplish big things by working together and taking things one step at a time. “Inch by inch it’s a cinch! Yard by yard its hard! “
